The Board of Zoning Appeals (BZA) hears and renders decisions on two types of applications: (1) an appeal which alleges an error was made in the administration or enforcement of the Zoning Code or other land use codes and (2) a request for a variance from the strict application of a provision of the Zoning Code or other land use codes due to practical difficulties. The City Beautiful Commission (CBC) helps create city-wide pride related to beautification through contests, and awards. The CBC will help make recommendations for improvements in the appearance of streets, parks, and buildings, as well as sponsor, promote, and encourage individual and collective beautification efforts. Amber Holloway has been assistant city manager for Vandalia; she will replace veteran city manager Brad Townsend, who is retiring. West Carrollton City Council is expected to pass legislation appointing Amber Holloway as its next city manager during Tuesday evening’s Council meeting. West Carrollton Using Program to Help Get At-Risk Adults, Children Home Safely
West Carrollton recently embarked on a community safety tool designed to help law enforcement get at-risk individuals home safely. Under the Safe Encounter program, “friends, family and loved ones can create a profile for any dependents with intellectual disabilities, severe mental health issues, or non-verbal communication styles, the company said. GetGo turns to West Carrollton for first Dayton area location
GetGo Café & Market is looking to bring a fueling station, convenience store and drive-through to West Carrollton. A site plan application submitted for the convenience store chain owned and operated by Pittsburgh-based Giant Eagle was approved by the city of West Carrollton on April 20. It calls for a 24-hour 6,323-square-foot store with six double-sided fuel pumps at 2100 S. Alex Road between Ohio 725 and Watertower Lane.
