West Carrollton to Launch Construction of Two New Schools this Fall

The West Carrollton School District and the Ohio Facilities Construction Commission are moving forward with the design and planning of the district’s Phase II construction project. In that phase, the school district will build a 97,000-square-foot elementary school to house its second, third and fourth-grade students, plus a middle/high school campus for its seventh through 12th-grade students. “The Phase II buildings will provide students up-to-date learning environments,” Superintendent Andrea Townsend said Tuesday. “Having all schools air conditioned will be one bonus for both students and staff. City of West Carrollton announces schedule of family-friendly events for summer 2023

WEST CARROLLTON, Ohio (WKEF) — The City of West Carrollton is sharing its schedule of family-friendly events for the summer of 2023. Everyone can enjoy activities including kite flying, concerts, and sand sculpting. The Sandmazing Event & Summer Concert Series, which runs from May 29 to June 2, is one of the highlighted events. West Carrollton’s Community Police Academy Returns

The West Carrollton Police Department will host its Community Police Academy (CPA) this fall which will provide hands-on training and education about what it’s like to be a police officer from academy training to being on the road. The free academy is for West Carrollton residents. Participants will work together with officers to gain an understanding of what it takes to ‘make a police officer.’ The class will go through the same type of training led by the same instructors that train West Carrollton officers. The city is partnering with Valor Martial Arts to host a self-defense class for young women on Saturday, July 23, from 2-4 p.m. at Valor Martial Arts, 11 N. Elm St., West Carrollton. The class is geared for high school and college age students and is structured to educate women in skills that are helpful to avoid dangerous encounters.
