West Carrollton City Council Vacancy
The West Carrollton City Council has announced it is accepting applications to fill an unexpired term ending December 31, 2025.
Persons interested in serving on the West Carrollton City Council through December 31, 2025, are asked to submit their resumes and letters of interest by email to Clerk of Council Tracy Moore at [email protected]
Applicants must meet the following required qualifications:
— Be a qualified elector
— Be a resident of the City for at least one (1) year.
The deadline to submit resumes and letters of interest is Wednesday, May 21, 2025, at 4:30 p.m. All interested persons are encouraged to apply.
Section 4.07 of the West Carrollton Charter reads as follows:
Section 4.07. Vacancies, Filling of. Vacancies in the office of Councilmember shall be filled within sixty (60) days by vote of a majority of the remaining members of Council by the selection of a person qualified as provided in Section 4.03 hereof. If the Council should fail to act within sixty (60) days, the Mayor, or Deputy-Mayor when acting as Mayor, shall fill such vacancy by appointment. A person so chosen or appointed shall serve until the next regular Municipal election occurring not less than one hundred (100) days after said selection. At such election a successor shall be elected to serve for the remainder of the unexpired term, if any; if not, for a full term.
