The City of West Carrollton Fire Department has ordered a new fire engine from Sutphen Corporation, with delivery expected next year, to replace a vehicle that has been in service for more than 30 years.
The nearly $1 million purchase is funded by the 2025 fire levy, made possible through voter support. The new engine will improve reliability, reduce maintenance issues associated with aging equipment, and enhance safety for both firefighters and residents during emergency responses.
Fire Chief Barnett noted that replacing outdated apparatus is critical to maintaining dependable emergency services and ensuring crews have the tools they need to respond safely and efficiently.
This investment reflects the City’s ongoing commitment to emergency preparedness, fiscal responsibility, and providing high-quality public safety services to the community.
