  The Board of Zoning Appeals (BZA) hears and renders decisions on two types of applications: (1) an appeal which alleges an error was made in the administration or enforcement of the Zoning Code or other land use codes and (2) a request for a variance from the strict application of a provision of the Zoning Code or other land use codes due to practical difficulties. Per Section 9.03 of the West Carrollton City Charter, Board Members shall be residents of the Municipality who hold no other Municipal office or employment. Amber Holloway has been assistant city manager for Vandalia; she will replace veteran city manager Brad Townsend, who is retiring. West Carrollton City Council is expected to pass legislation appointing Amber Holloway as its next city manager during Tuesday evening’s Council meeting. Another Busy I-75 Ramp Near Dayton to Close for Six Weeks

As I-75 construction continues on the south side of Dayton, a new ramp closure will affect traffic for the next six weeks. The highway entrance ramp from East Dixie Drive to I-75 North, at Exit 47 in West Carrollton, will close for 40 days, starting Thursday, Aug. 30. Ohio Department of Transportation officials say the closure is necessary to continue I-75 reconstruction work in that area. The West Carrollton School District and the Ohio Facilities Construction Commission are moving forward with the design and planning of the district’s Phase II construction project. West Carrollton will make much-needed improvements to the Interstate 75 underpass at Alex-Bell Road. Planned improvements include painting of the jersey barriers and the beams of the bridge, installing new LED lighting and removing the overgrowth there and replacing that with new landscaping, said Greg Gaines, director of planning and community development.
