Trustees – River District New Community Authority (Citizen Representative, Two Positions Available)
Trustees of the River District New Community Authority serve as the governing body of a public entity established under Ohio Revised Code Chapter 349 to guide and finance infrastructure and community development within the River District. Citizen Trustees represent the interests of current and future residents and provide independent oversight alongside city and developer representatives.
Trustees are responsible for setting policy, adopting resolutions, approving budgets and financing actions, and overseeing the Authority’s activities related to public infrastructure, redevelopment, and long-term community planning in the River District. This position will play a crucial role in developing the River District and West Carrollton Whitewater River Park. The Board exercises all statutory powers of the Authority, ensures compliance with Ohio public meeting and records laws, and acts in a fiduciary capacity to advance the public purpose of the district.
Trustees serve two-year terms, are appointed by the West Carrollton City Council, and serve without compensation. The role requires regular attendance at public meetings, thoughtful decision-making, collaboration with fellow trustees and city staff, and a commitment to transparency, ethical governance, and the long-term success of the River District.
