May is National Bicycle Safety Month. The City of West Carrollton will host its Annual Bicycle Fun Day & Ice Cream Social on Saturday, May 4, 2024, from 11 a.m. to 1 pm. All are Welcome. During large item/bulk trash collection, the service department will collect glass items (which need to be taped and wrapped), all fabric items—for example, mattresses, box springs, couches, and chairs (which MUST BE BUNDLED), brushes and carpet (which need to be bundled), old appliances, paint, and other bulk trash items. Nails need to be removed from all boards and carpets. *If items are not properly wrapped or bundled, they will not be picked up. This is a day to celebrate our community! Volunteers, city staff, and members of the City Beautiful Commission will join together to clean up different areas around our city. We will also help residents who require assistance weeding and cleaning up debris in their yards. We will meet at the Civic Center on the day of the event at 9 a.m. to hand out assignments, and each volunteer will receive a T-shirt (while supplies last).
