Deadline to file a 2025 City Income Tax Return is April 15, 2026

The City of West Carrollton’s due date for filing and paying individual 2025 West Carrollton income taxes is April 15, 2026. To avoid lines, we encourage individuals to file their returns as soon as they have their tax information ready.

If a taxpayer requests a Federal filing extension to October 15, 2026, that will be honored by the City of West Carrollton.  Your 2025 taxes must still be paid by April 15, 2026, or late fees, penalties and interest charges will accrue.  A Federal filing extension only extends the time to file and is not an extension to pay.

Tax Rate: 2.25%

The City of West Carrollton requires all residents age 18 and older to file an income tax return, regardless of whether or not tax is due. Individuals requesting an exemption from the annual filing requirement (including retirees age 65 or older) must submit an Individual Declaration of Exemption form for consideration.

Online Filing

Our Online Tax Tool is being upgraded and revamped with a new look and features, including the ability to see prior year tax returns that were filed using our previous online filing system (back to tax year 2022). Please check back with us in February 2026 for the latest update.

In-Person Filing

Need help completing your city tax return?  The City of West Carrollton Tax Department will be glad to complete your West Carrollton tax return free of charge. Please bring all necessary W-2’s and 1099 forms (copies are acceptable), the first two pages of your Federal Form 1040, and any pertinent federal schedules or tax form to the tax department during business hours.  No appointment is needed.

Ready to drop off completed returns?  Place a signed copy of the completed West Carrollton tax return in an envelope along with all pertinent tax documents and drop off to the West Carrollton Tax Department during business hours.  You may also use the secured Night Deposit box under the Utility window.  Just be sure to include all tax documents in a sealed envelope labeled “Tax Department”.

Tax Department Hours:

Monday to Friday, 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. (excluding city holidays).

Extended hours will be offered on Tuesday, April 14th and Wednesday, April 15th from 7:30 a.m. to 6 p.m.
