West Carrollton welcomed Jersey Mike’s Subs on Wednesday, August 12th and celebrated the grand opening of its new location at 654 E. Dixie Drive. West Carrollton Schools celebrated the opening of the new West Carrollton Middle/High School with a ribbon-cutting ceremony on Monday, August 10th. Mayor Rick Barnhart, members of the City Council, City Manager Amber Holloway, and City staff joined West Carrollton School Board members, school staff, and members of the community for the celebration. AT&T has begun installing its fiber-optic network in neighborhoods throughout West Carrollton. The project will be completed in sections, with construction crews moving through different areas of the city as work progresses. Residents should watch for AT&T door hangers, which are typically distributed approximately 72 hours before construction begins in an area. During the July 28, 2026, City Council meeting, West Carrollton City Council Member Mike Boyle announced his resignation, effective immediately following the meeting. Boyle is resigning as he will no longer reside within the West Carrollton city limits and is therefore ineligible to continue serving on the City Council.
