The City of West Carrollton, OH (pop. 13,143) is seeking a full-time Clerk of Courts in the Finance Department. This role involves managing administrative duties for the Mayor’s Court and Income Tax Department under the limited supervision of the Finance Director and the Mayor. Key responsibilities include maintaining court and financial records, ensuring compliance with retention laws, transmitting driving records, entering cases into the tracking system, preparing court documents, managing the court schedule, and assisting the Prosecutor. The role also includes processing delinquent cases, transferring cases, responding to inquiries, and preparing reports for the State of Ohio Supreme Court.
Additionally, the position provides backup support to the income tax department, assisting with tax returns, collecting tax payments, and handling inquiries. The salary range for this position is $22.06 – $29.57 per hour DOQ. Excellent benefits.
Desired Training and Experience:
- High school graduation or equivalent, with experience in executive administrative work, or equivalent training.
- Execute oral and written directions, prepare reports, maintain records, and perform clerical duties.
- Interact tactfully with the public and city employees.
- Handle confidential information.
- Work under limited supervision.
Required Qualifications:
- Possession of, or ability to promptly obtain, a valid Ohio Driver’s License.
- Must be able to meet requirements to be bonded.
- Completion of Mayor’s Courts Registration and Reporting training as per the Ohio Revised Code.
- Ability to work outside of normal working hours and to work various shifts as necessary.
- The successful candidate must be able to pass a background check.
