Community Shred Day

Protect your personal information and safely dispose of unwanted personal documents at West Carrollton’s Community Shred Day. This free, drive-up event provides residents with a secure and convenient way to shred sensitive paperwork and help reduce the risk of identity theft.

Time: 9:00 a.m. – 11:30 a.m.
Location: 
West Carrollton Senior Citizens Center, 10 E. Central Avenue

Documents will be shredded on-site.


Eligibility

This free event is open only to City of West Carrollton residents. To participate, residents must provide proof of West Carrollton residency, such as a valid photo ID or a current utility bill.


Accepted Items:

Residents may bring unwanted personal documents, which may include:

  • Processed checks
  • Financial documents
  • Old tax records
  • Medical records
  • Personal files
  • Loan documents
  • Files or documents with Social Security or credit card account information

There is no need to remove paper clips, staples, binder clips, rubber bands, or folders. Documents must be removed from binders.


How to Bring Your Documents

Documents may be brought in:

  • Plastic totes (such as Rubbermaid containers)
  • Cardboard boxes
  • Small trash bags

Please do not bring documents in large black trash bags.


Items Not Accepted

The following items will not be accepted:

  • Electronics
  • Batteries
