Thanks to an Ohio Public Works Commission grant, a new waterline replacement project is currently underway on William and Robert Streets, as well as a small section of Locust Street.
The project, which Sturm Construction began on June 11, will involve the replacement an existing 4-inch waterline with an 8-inch waterline as well as the installation of new fire hydrants and individual residential service connections. The city received a $247,868 grant and $247,868 zero-interest loan from the Ohio Public Works Commission to complete the estimated $495,736 project.
Traffic and driveway access will be maintained for all 56 residents throughout the 6-week project. Residents will experience a short, approximate one-hour disruption of service when their services are connected to the new waterlines. All residents will be notified by the contractor when that time occurs.
The roads affected by the project will be resurfaced in the summer of 2019.
