W. Central Ave. Improvements to Begin August 12

Posted on August 9, 2019

The West Central Avenue reconstruction project will begin Monday, August 12.

During the construction period, one lane of traffic will remain open in each direction as crews work on improvements to the curbs, sidewalks, water lines and storm sewers. The road will be reconstructed to include a center turn lane with one lane of traffic in each direction. This project also includes re-paving of W. Central Ave. from Elm St. to Miami Ave. and re-paving Miami Ave. from Central Ave. to Main St.

The improvement project is part of an ongoing initiative to revitalize the Carrollton Centre area which includes the addition of Miami Valley Sand. The project’s completion by Nov. 15 coincides closely with Miami Valley Sand’s opening in November. New traffic signals will be installed shortly thereafter.

“We appreciate everyone’s patience while completing these improvements along the W. Central Ave. corridor,” said Rich Norton, West Carrollton service director, and “encourage all citizens to be aware and obey the traffic control signs.”
