The Parks and Recreation Department will be holding a Bike Rodeo for children ages four to 11 years old. Children can practice their biking skills on several courses set up throughout Wilson Park. The West Carrollton Police Department will be available for safety checks and to provide safety tips. The Bike Rodeo will be held Saturday, August 8, 10-11:30 a.m., at the parking lot near the Wilson Park Pool entrance. Social distancing practices will be in place during the event.
The cost is $5 per child and registration must be completed by August 5. Online registration is encouraged and is available here. Each registered child will receive a medal and be entered into a drawing for additional prizes.
Build a Fairy & Gnome Home: During the week of August 3-10, children can go to Weidner Park in their free time to look for small painted rocks scattered around the park. Near each painted rock there will be natural building materials like sticks, pinecones and pebbles. Children can use these materials provided as well as other items they find or bring themselves to create a “tiny home” at the location for a special W.C. fairy or gnome family.
Once the home is built, take a photo and send it to Tslonaker@westcarrollton.org or submit the photo online here.
Please do not remove any painted rocks as multiple homes can be built near the same rock. Be courteous of other’s creations.
