West Carrollton’s National Night Out event will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 6, at Wilson Park Pool, 1226 S. Elm St.
Admission is free and it is open to the public. Free snacks and water are being donated by local restaurants and stores.
The annual national event, hosted in communities across the country, promotes strong police-neighborhood relationships which encourages a sense of camaraderie.
Attendees can meet local police officers and see displays of emergency and towing vehicles. The event will also feature a water rescue demonstration in the pool by the West Carrollton Fire Department, a Fairborn Police officer with his K-9 partner, and Miami Valley Hospital’s Care Flight landing at 6:30 p.m.
Dayton Mobile DJ will be supplying the music and the Kona-Ice truck will be in attendance. Local businesses including Meijer, Dayton Children’s Hospital, Cincinnati Reds, YMCA, and City BBQ will be donating items such as back-to-school backpacks, bicycle helmets, game tickets along with coupons and vouchers.
