Posted on October 15, 2019

LogoCalling all skeletons, werewolves and superheroes: the city’s annual Monster Mash event will be held at Weidner Park next to the Civic Center, 300 E. Central Ave., from 6 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 24.

Hundreds of people typically attend the festivities. Activities for the children include games, bounce houses and pumpkin decorating. The West Carrollton Lion’s Club will host a costume contest for children at the start of the event; prizes will be awarded in several age groups.

There will be a mini-pumpkin patch with free pumpkins for the first 400 children. The West Carrollton Nazarene Church will provide a ‘decoration station’ and the staff from the West Carrollton Branch Library will also have activities. Admission is free for all activities. There will be popcorn and cotton candy for sale.

Two days later, on Saturday, Oct. 26, at 11:30 a.m. the parks and recreation department will host ‘Sniff A Treat’, an event for dogs and their owners at Hintermeister Park, located at 1300 Mayrose Dr.

Dog treats will be hidden throughout the park for dogs to sniff out. The event will begin with a costume contest for the dogs. Admission is free. All dogs must remain on leash during the entire event.
