Jr. Firefighter Event Set for March 3

Junior Firefighter EventIs your child fascinated by fire trucks and medic vehicles? The West Carrollton Fire Department is hosting a special event for any child who dreams of being a medic or firefighter one day.

The second-annual Junior Firefighter Event is set for 1 p.m. Saturday, March 3, at Fire Station 56, located at 125 W. Central Ave. The event is aimed at children ages 6-12, and costs $5 per child.

Registration can be completed in person at the parks and recreation department of Civic Center, Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. or online at https://www.westcarrollton.org/junior-fire-fighter-event/. The deadline for registration is Feb. 28 and will be limited to 15 participants.

All participants will receive a t-shirt. The children will learn more about the day-to-day activities of fire fighters and will complete activities such as beginner’s first aid training, a simulated smoky escape house, and an obstacle course with firefighter tools and ladders.
