Utility Operator (full-time)

Pay range $18.25 – $24.47/ hr., DOQ with benefits

Applications are being accepted for a full-time Utility Operator (UO) with the Water and Sewer Division of the Service Department.

The UO is responsible for a wide range of general maintenance and repair activities associated with the water and sewer system and treatment plants. May operate a pick-up truck, dump truck, backhoe, vactor/jet rodder or other vehicles in the performance of duties.

Required Qualifications at Time of Application: Applicants must possess a valid driver’s license and have a high school diploma or GED. Applicants must possess either a Class I Water Supply Operator’s Certificate or a Class I Wastewater Works Operator Certificate.

Obtained Qualifications Within Six (6) Months of Employment: Applicants must obtain a State of Ohio Class B Commercial Driver’s License with Air Brake and Tanker endorsement and State of Ohio EPA Chemical Certification for pH and Chlorine within six months of employment.

Obtained Qualifications Within Two (2) Years of Employment: Applicants must obtain a Class I Water Supply Operator’s Certificate or a Class I Wastewater Works Operator Certificate within two (2) years of employment if not already in possession of both certifications at time of application.
