Tax Administrator

The City of West Carrollton, OH (pop. 13,143) is currently seeking applicants for the position of Tax Administrator in the Finance Department.  The Tax Administrator oversees the daily operations of the tax department under the Finance Director’s guidance. Key responsibilities include supervising staff, auditing financial and tax records to determine tax liabilities, and ensuring compliance with local and state tax laws. Salary and Benefits 

The salary range for this position is $2,236.13 – $2,995.87 bi-weekly DOQ. Excellent benefits.

Desired Training and Experience:

  • Completion of an associate degree with coursework in business, bookkeeping, and/or general finance, OR at least five (5) years of progressive experience in a business, finance, or tax collection environment, preferably with a municipal or other governmental entity.
  • A bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field is preferred and may substitute for relevant experience.
  • Experience with Ohio Business Gateway Municipal Tax Administration is preferred.
  • CPA (Certified Public Accountant) licensure is preferred.

Required Qualifications:

  • Must be bondable in the State of Ohio to the limits set by the City of West Carrollton.
  • Possession of, or ability to promptly obtain, a valid Ohio Driver’s License.
  • Ability to work outside of normal working hours and to work various shifts as necessary.
  • The successful candidate must be able to pass a background check.
