The event will feature free ‘take your own’ photos with Santa Claus, horse-drawn wagon rides, a candy cane hunt, and musical performances by local high school choirs.
Before the event begins at 4 p.m., a special Sensory-Friendly Santa photo opportunity will provide the chance for children with special needs, and their families, to enjoy a private photo session without all the loud noises and large crowds. Spots are limited between 2:45-3:45 p.m., and reservations are required. Register online at https://www.westcarrollton.org/sensitive-santa-photo-request/ or call (937) 859-5182.
The Holiday Fest will feature free hot chocolate and cookies, horse-drawn wagon rides, and craft activities provided by Dayton Metro Library staff. West Carrollton High School choir and orchestra ensembles will also perform. A flashlight candy cane hunt will be held at 5:30 p.m.
The event concludes with the annual tree lighting ceremony at 6 p.m.
The winners of the Dec. 1 Gingerbread House Decorating Contest will be on display during the event.
During the Holiday Festival and continuing through Dec. 17, the West Carrollton Civic Center lobby will also house Santa’s mailbox. Please include a self-addressed, stamped envelope in order to receive a response from Santa.
