The Parks Department has two planned events for February. The For the Birds program will be Saturday, February 5, from 10 a.m. to noon. The second program is one where kids and parents participate together, called A Family Adventure, and is scheduled for Thursday, February 17, from 6 to 8 p.m. Both events will be held at the West Carrollton Senior Center, 10 E. Central Ave.
In the For the Birds program, children will make backyard bird feeders and tree garlands using natural ingredients. The fee is $3 per child and includes all materials and a light snack.
The A Family Adventure program is geared to be a family experience and a way to brighten up the winter season. Children and their parents or guardians, grandparents, or adult siblings will participate in several activities together. The fee is $5 per person and includes all materials and a pizza snack. This program is for children ages four years and older. Multiple children can attend per family but, all children must be supervised by the participating adult(s.)
Pegge Bellamy, events coordinator, says to “bring the whole family, dress comfy and wear your athletic shoes because you’ll be moving around. We’ll be making our own flavored soda and decorating cupcakes along with interactive, fun organized family games.”
