Reading Summer Challenge Kick Off
A special Red Carpet event to kick off to the West Carrollton Branch of the Dayton Metro Library’s Summer Reading Challenge will be held 6-8 p.m. Thursday, May 30, at the library located at 300 E. Central Ave.
The event is free and open to children of all ages and their parents. Activities will include a walk on the red carpet with photo opportunities, button and jewelry making, dance party, catapult challenge (weather permitting, and refreshments.
“It is where the kids get to be a star,” said Gina Detate, West Carrollton children’s services librarian.
The Summer Challenge is an annual library-wide program in which kids read and earn prizes. This summer’s theme is “A Universe of Stories.” Grand prizes include admission for four to the Carillon Historical Park, U.S. Air Force Museum’s Digital 3D Theater or Flight Simulator, and a ride on the Wright B Flyer plane.
