Memorial Veteran’s Ceremony
A Memorial Weekend service, organized by the Combined Honor Guard of the local Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 3438 and American Legion Post 165, will begin at 1 p.m. Sunday, May 27, with wreath-tossing ceremony at the Farmersville-West Carrollton Road Bridge, followed by a ceremony at Evergreen Cemetery.
Joe Ketring, post commander of VFW 3438, will serve as the emcee for the event. Col. John D. Mckaye, commander of the 655th Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance Group of the U.S. Air Force stationed at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, will be the guest speaker. Several members of the West Carrollton High School Marching Band will also perform “Taps” and the “Star Spangled Banner” during the ceremony.
Bill Koehler will also distribute Vietnam Veteran lapel pins and other information in coordination with the United States of America Vietnam War 50th Commemoration.
