City to Collect Leaves First, Then Storm Debris

storm debris & leavesThe West Carrollton service department will collect tree limb debris from the Nov. 15 ice storm starting on Monday, Dec. 3, after the leaf collection is finished.

Residents should keep the limb and branch debris separate from the leaf piles, which are collected by street vacuum.

The branches and limbs should not be bundled, as the string or ties prohibit the debris from being recycled into mulch.

“Residents are encouraged to cut the limbs in approximately eight-feet sections and move the limbs to the curb line or alley for collection no later than Dec. 3,” said Rich Norton, service director.

However, large fallen trees that require a tree service contractor should be disposed of by the contractor. Debris that is larger than 10-inches in diameter will not be collected.

Residents can also dispose of the material themselves at the Montgomery County Solid Waste Facility at 2450 Sandridge Drive in Moraine.
