The tornado sirens in the City of West Carrollton will sound at 9:50 a.m. on Wednesday, March 22, as part of the statewide tornado drill and test of the Emergency Alert System.
In the event of inclement weather, the local drill may be canceled to avoid causing undue alarm, according to Fire Chief Chris Barnett.
The week of March 19-25 has been designated Severe Weather Awareness Week in a coordinated effort with the Ohio Committee for Severe Weather Awareness (OCSWA) and Governor John R. Kasich. The committee encourages all Ohioans to learn what to do to protect themselves from spring and summer weather hazards and home emergencies. For more information, see http://weathersafety.ohio.gov/
