Arbor Day Celebration: April 28 at Wilson Park

Posted on April 19, 2017

Dozens of local children, including those from area Boy Scout and Girl Scout troops, will join local leaders in celebrating Arbor Day at 5:30 p.m. on Friday, April 28, at Wilson Park.

The children will help plant a Princeton Elm tree near the main playground while Mayor Jeff Sanner reads a proclamation. The Mayor and children will be joined by other City Council members and City Beautiful Commission members. Children will earn a tree planting patch for their participation.

The City of West Carrollton will earn its 28th certificate as a Tree City USA member during a ceremony on Friday, April 21 in Lebanon, Ohio. Participation in the Tree City USA program requires that the city performs tree care programs, enacts a community tree ordinance, funds a community forestry program; and celebrate Arbor Day with a community ceremony.
