The company, started in 1982, now employs 12 people and has sales near $2 million, according to Rick Dobson, co-owner. Representatives from the company, the City of West Carrollton, and the Better Business Bureau, and South Metro Chamber of Commerce were on hand. At 10,000 square feet, Randd’s new facility is more than three times the 3,000 square feet of its former location in Moraine. The extra space allows Randd to complete in-house embroidery work and increase its digital printing capacity. Dobson and his wife, Pam Herbst-Dobson, launched Randd in 1982 from a former bait-and-tackle shop they bought for $7,500. “She loaned me $500 to get the business started and her car so I could make sales calls,” said Rick. “We converted it to our office and residence-a mere 400 square foot facility,” he said. Randd hired its first employee in 1986, moved to a 1,000 square foot facility in 1988, and again in 1990 to its former location in Moraine. In 2002, Dan Bir joined the company as a partner.
