Visitors to Wilson Park Pool this summer will notice some changes. The most noticeable is that Coca-Cola products will be sold in the concession stand.
The city’s parks and recreation department recently agreed to a three-year contract with Coke. In the new agreement, the city will receive $1,000 per year from Coca-Cola, in addition to shade umbrellas and other products with the Coke logo.
The city also negotiated a wholesale price for the fountain drinks which is 8 percent less than last year’s costs.
“I believe this new partnership will serve the pool and our patrons well,” said Christian Mattingly, parks and recreation director.
“We plan to use the sponsorship money to help cover costs for special events and other pool needs such as replacement pool chairs,” Mattingly said.
After opening during Memorial Day weekend, the pool will open for regular hours on Saturday, June 2. For more information about the pool including admission prices, check www.westcarrollton.org.
