A new website is helping Miami Valley Lighting (MVLt) better serve customers by simplifying how streetlight outages are reported and giving customers a way to track and record feedback about service. If you notice a street light or public area light is out, please log on to our new website www.lightingsimplified.com. Before the website, customers had to call, fax or email concerns about streetlights, but didn't have a way to track the calls or provide feedback. Using the website, customers report the problem, get an immediate acknowledgement and receive a follow-up email when the problem has been resolved. The website was created around the fact that consumers generally noticed outdoor light outages while they were mobile, the site was built responsively, automatically adjusting desktop computers or mobile devices with the capability to report up to 10 outages on one ticket if needed. In the past, a resident had to report the outage as well as any follow-up concerns to a city employee, who in turn reported it to MVLt. Now, the resident can simply report the outage and receive updates on the repair from MVLt. The city will get one monthly report about all outages in their community, including those made by residents directly to the website. |
