Senior Citizens' Center

The West Carrollton Senior Citizens' Center is located at the southeast corner of Central Avenue and Elm Street. A variety of activities take place at the Center, including classes and special programs, the events of the West Carrollton Senior Citizens' Club, and private parties and rentals.

Individuals, families, and groups have the opportunity to reserve the Senior Citizens' Center for private parties and get-togethers, such as bridal or baby showers, graduation parties, and family reunions. It boasts a full kitchen with serving area, and seats 60-75 people comfortably.

The Center is available for rent on Friday evenings from 4:00-10:00 p.m., and on Sundays from 12:00 noon-10:00 p.m. There is a $50 refundable deposit, and the fee is $50 for residents/$100 for non-residents. We only accept checks or cash.  We cannot accept debit or credit cards. Reservations must be made in person at the Civic Center, and can only be made for the current calendar year. Civic Center

The Civic Center has two meeting rooms that are available for non-profit community groups to hold meetings. The Community Room is the larger of the two, and seats approximately 50 people. The Commission Meeting Room can accommodate up to 20 people. No food or drinks are allowed in the meeting rooms.

Dayton Metro Library

The West Carrollton Branch of the Dayton Metro Library is located within the Civic Center at 300 E. Central Avenue. Hours are Monday, Tuesday & Thursday 9:30 am - 8:30 pm, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday 9:30 am - 6:00 pm.  For more information about the library and any activities they may offer, please contact them at 937-496-8962.

Sports Facilities

West Carrollton Soccer Complex - 4800 Hydraulic Road
The Soccer Complex is home to the numerous youth and adult soccer groups, such as the West Carrollton Soccer Association and the West Carrollton Soccer Club. A concession area, playground, and a large picnic shelter are available for participating teams and spectator enjoyment. The Soccer Complex has been recognized as a top facility in southwestern Ohio, and it plays host to the annual Soccer Blast tournament which attracts over 150 teams from surrounding areas.

Harmon Field - 545 N. Elm Street
Harmon Field contains a lighted football field, a lighted baseball field, two unlit baseball fields, a concession/restroom building, and a storage/press box building. Across the street is a fenced play area and half basketball court. Both the Wee Pirate Football and Moraine-West Carrollton Little League programs play games at this facility.

Schnell Softball Complex - 5995 Student Street

The Schnell Softball Complex consists of a picnic shelter and three slow-pitch softball diamonds, which are used for the adult softball leagues sponsored by the Parks & Recreation Department.

Weidner Park - 150 E. Central Avenue
A lighted youth baseball diamond, used by the Moraine-West Carrollton Little League, and a lighted basketball court and tennis courts are feature attractions of Weidner Park.

Wilson Park - 350 Wilson Park Drive
Wilson Park is the city's largest municipal park, with an outdoor swimming pool, three lighted tennis courts, one basketball court, a sand volleyball court, and a one-mile hard surface pedestrian pathway. The park also features several acres of open space for outdoor recreation.

Low Dam Recreation Area - N. Alex Road parallel to the Great Miami River
This site plays host to the annual fireworks display on the Fourth of July, and provides boat ramps and access to popular fishing areas.

Miami & Erie Canal Park - 5457 Marina Drive
This park overlooks the Great Miami River. The old Miami and Erie Canal ran adjacent to the current park property. Improvements scheduled for 2003 include construction of a boat ramp for canoes, kayaks, and other hand-carried watercraft.

River Corridor Bikeway - runs along the Great Miami River from the VFW Hall on Marina Drive to Miamisburg Over five miles of the River Corridor Bikeway roll through West Carrollton. Many bicyclists, in-line skaters, runners, and walkers enjoy this unique recreation facility. For more information regarding the Bikeway, check out
