BOARD OF WATER AND SEWER CHARGE ADJUSTMENT- (1 citizen member, 1 council member & 1 city staff member)

BOARD OF ZONING APPEALS- (5 members)

Meets on 2nd Thursday of each month at 7:00 p.m. (Requires some individual study time). An independent body which interprets the city's zoning ordinance; reviews and decides upon applications for conditional uses; and can grant variances to the zoning ordinance under unusual circumstances.

INCOME TAX BOARD OF REVIEW - (3 members)

Makes decisions when a disagreement occurs between the income tax administrator and a taxpayer.
INDEPENDENCE DAY FESTIVAL COMMITTEE - (9 members)

Plans and implements the annual Independence Day Festival - a community celebration.
PERSONNEL APPEALS BOARD - (3 members)

Hears appeals by city employees who have been suspended in excess of three days. Also serves as the Civil Service Commission for the West Carrollton city school district.

Meets on 1st and 3rd Thursday of each month at 6:30 p.m. (Requires some individual study time). Studies and makes recommendations to city council on proposed zoning ordinance map and text changes; reviews and approves proposed subdivisions; and reviews and updates the city comprehensive plan.
PROPERTY MAINTENANCE CODE APPEALS BOARD - (5 members)

Meets as necessary on 2nd Wednesday of month at 7:00 p.m. Requires some individual study time. An independent body which decides appeals by property owners where it is alleged that an error has been made in the interpretation or decisions made by building inspectors in the enforcement of the property maintenance code. The board can also grant variances from the code in limited circumstances to provide reasonable time to complete required work to abate violations.
RECREATION BOARD - (5 members--2 appointed by West Carrollton School Board)

Meets on 3rd Tuesday of each month at 6:30 p.m.
An advisory board to city council and staff; develops plans and recommends policies for recreation programs and facilities; acts as liaison between citizens and city government on recreational needs.
Citizens interested in volunteering to serve on a board or commission may contact the city manager's office at (937)859-5183 to obtain a volunteer application form which will be reviewed by the city council. All interested citizens are encouraged to apply.
