West Carrollton Recycling Program:

Rumpke Recycling now accepts all plastic items with numbers 1-7 and the recycling logo on it.  In the past, only numbers 1,2, and 6 were accepted.

Residents should still rinse the recycled plastics and discard the caps.  However paper labels do not need to be removed.  Plastic wrap, plastic grocery bags, oil and antifreeze containers are not accepted. Other recycling guidelines include:

Paper - newspapers, magazines, paperboard boxes such as cereal, snacks and beverage containers, junk mail and corrugated cardboard boxes broken into 2x2 bundles are accepted.  Pizza boxes, tissues, used paper plates, cups and bowls are not accepted.

Glass - clear, brown, green and blues bottles and jars are accepted.  Excluded items include jar lids, light bulbs, drinking glass, windows.

Cans - aluminum, steel and tin beverage and food cans as well as empty aerosol cans are accepted.  Paint cans and coat hangers are not accepted.

Hypodermic needles are not recyclable and should be placed in either a plastic or glass container and put out with the regular trash.

The participation of West Carrollton residents in the recycling program has been great!

If you do not have a recycling bin, please call the Service Department at 859-8280.
