West Carrollton Preschool

Message from the Director

Our weekday preschool seeks to provide experiences which will help your child grow in many ways - physically, emotionally, socially, and intellectually. We provide an atmosphere in which love, understanding, and individual concern make this growth possible. We will help your child grow in independence and adjust to the world beyond the home.

To accomplish these goals, we feel it is important to have small classes. Therefore, we strive to maintain a ratio of nine children per teacher, or a maximum of nineteen children with two teachers.

Our preschool is well-equipped to enable the teachers to carry out their planned activities. Each activity is based on our goal to create an environment where self-discovery can occur naturally; and through group experiences, new concepts can be explored together.

A typical session at our school would include:

  • A variety of activities to aid in development of the whole child
  • Large muscle development during active play time
  • Small muscle activities to strengthen little hands and improve hand-eye coordination
  • Strengthening of self-concept
  • Problem solving activities
  • Positive reinforcement
  • Opportunities to develop social skills during group activities
  • Cognitive development in math, science, music, language, art, and other activities

A visit to our school is an excellent way to gain a better understanding of our philosophy. This will allow you to observe and ask any questions you may have about our program. After enrolling your child, we encourage you to visit any time during the school year.

Sincerely,
Sally Gutierrez
Director
