WHY DO I NEED A PERMIT?

Permits are issued to provide uniform minimum standards for construction, repair, alteration, and maintenance of buildings, structures, and their components.

It is for citizens’ safety that a permit be secured before the work is started and to assure that all work will be in accordance with the state building codes and ordinances. Also, all work covered by the permit is to be inspected. The inspections are performed by qualified certified inspectors.
